Description
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), a licensed and accredited institution in Dubai, UAE, is globally recognized for its dedication to providing learner-centered, high-quality smart learning. With a mission to drive innovative education, HBMSU invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor/Professor position in Healthcare Management.
Main roles & responsibilities
The selected candidate will be a key contributor to the School of Health and Environmental Studies. Primary responsibilities include:
- Teaching: Conduct online courses in health management, covering topics such as health economics, operations management, health quality, and health information systems
- Curriculum Development: Design instructional materials and e-content for healthcare management, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Research: Contribute to the academic community by publishing research in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. Develop research proposals, secure funding for healthcare management-related projects, and supervise master’s theses.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance, advice, and mentorship to learners, supporting them throughout their academic and professional journeys.
- Professional Development: Develop and deliver professional short courses and workshops tailored to the needs of specific target groups and professional communities.
- Service: Support academic programs by fulfilling essential responsibilities, including activities related to program accreditations and institutional requirements.
Required qualification & skills
- PhD in Healthcare Management from an accredited university, preferably ranked among the top 200 globally.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare management and its practical applications.
- Ability to teach healthcare management courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Preference for candidates with experience in teaching health economics, health finance, health quality, and health information systems.
- Proven success in teaching at accredited universities.
- Experience teaching in online learning environments.
- Ability to incorporate industry insights into curriculum design and classroom teaching.

Rank and Appointment:
Candidates will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor based on the following criteria:
- A minimum of 5 years of academic experience in a university setting is required.
- A robust research profile demonstrated by high-quality publications and impactful contributions to the field.
- Evidence of holding the same academic rank (Associate Professor or Professor) at the time of application or at the last employing institution.
