The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, architecting, designing, and building the network infrastructure on-premises and on cloud.
Main roles & responsibilities
  1. Evaluate the business requirements and capacity planning of network devices and systems, collaborate with other stakeholders to identify and develop scalable network recommendations, solutions, and designs. 

  1. Create and develop plans for upgrades, patches, optimization, and capacity planning of the network systems, and ensure the successful and timely execution of those plans. 

  1. Ensure continued smooth operations and operational integrity of the network infrastructure, providing 100% availability of service. 

  1. Take responsibility for tracking the network dependencies, following up on the issues, and delivering solutions that satisfy the team’s needs and attend to, at any time and on call basis after working hours, to network failures, connectivity failures, and denial of application accessibility and any other calls which prevent users from accessing applications or have a major degradation in Network performance. 

  1. Explore, use, and manage AWS native services and technologies including but not limited to EC2, S3, auto-scaling, RDS, Route 53, Cloud watch, Lambda, VPC, ELB, AZs, IAM, security groups, NACLs, Guard Duty, Inspector, Cloud Trail, AWS Config, AppStream, SQS, SNS, Redshift and AWS Transfer. 

  1. Perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems, Build simulated networks in test labs to resolve problems and compatibility issues, Support the software development unit by identifying and presenting their network-impacting requirements to the rest of the IT Operations team for planning and action. 

  1. Install, configure, and maintain network services and VOIP (Voice over IP) networks, equipment, and devices for the network infrastructure on-premises and cloud while Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining, and monitoring network security. 

  1. Check network security, control access to the network, and document all access control lists. Take responsibility for inventory management of network software licenses, network hardware, and other networking equipment. 

  1. Follow best practices for securing systems and data. Report any security-related issues immediately to the line manager and to the TD ISM. Implement all ISMS manual guidelines. 

  1. Support HBMSU revenue generation activities through creating and enabling an environment that facilitates and enhances all its processes as applicable. 

  1. Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety and information security laws and policies. 

  1. As applicable, liaises and coordinate with the information security stand-up committee and TD to ensure the effective implementation of security initiatives.

Required qualification & skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. 

  • AWS certified solutions architect or DevOps.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) R&S. 

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security. 

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Voice. 

  • Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE).
