Admission Requirements

In alignment with our commitment to accessible, career-focused education, our entry framework is streamlined: 

  • General Eligibility:  Generally, no formal academic prerequisites are required other than meeting standard National Qualifications Centre (NQC) requirements.
  • Recommended Profile:  To ensure you can fully engage with and benefit from the advanced curricula, it is recommended that applicants hold a Bachelor’s degree (BSc) relevant to the program content and have a minimum of two years of professional experience.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

At HBMSU, undergraduate admission welcomes ambitious learners who aspire to become future-ready leaders. To qualify for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • High School Certification: Hold a recognized General Secondary School Certificate (GSSC) or its equivalent, officially approved by the UAE Ministry of Education or an accredited international authority.
  • Curriculum Completion: Successfully complete high school from a recognized UAE curriculum or an approved international curriculum.
  • Academic Average: Achieve the minimum secondary school average mandated by the Ministry of Education for the respective academic stream (e.g., Science, Arts, Elite, Advanced, or General streams).
  • English Language Proficiency: Applicants must successfully meet the English proficiency requirement through one of the following methods:
    • Graduating from an English-medium secondary education program. (Note: Graduates of English-medium secondary education programs are considered to have met the English proficiency requirement. However, an Equivalency Certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education must be submitted to complete the formal admission process).
    • Achieving a score of 80% or higher in a high school English subject studied within the UAE.
    • For learners from non-English-medium curricula, fulfilling the requirement by achieving one of the following standardized test scores:
      • TOEFL: 500 (Paper-based - PBT), 173 (Computer-based - CBT), or 61 (Internet-based - iBT)
      • IELTS Academic: 5.0 or higher
  • Mathematics Proficiency: Secure a minimum score of 70% in high school Mathematics studied within the UAE. Applicants who score below 70% are strictly required to complete a remedial mathematics course (MATH001) as an integral part of the admission process.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documentation:

  • A certified copy of the high school certificate and official transcripts
  • An Equivalency Certificate (mandatory if the high school certificate was issued outside the UAE)
  • Official English proficiency test score reports
  • A valid Emirates ID and a copy of a valid passport
  • One recent passport-sized photograph
  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate
  • An employment letter (if applicable)

Note: Conditional admission may be granted to applicants pending the complete fulfillment of English or mathematics proficiency requirements.

HBMSU ensures a learner-centered pathway utilizing flexible, technology-driven education that empowers learners from diverse backgrounds. 

Conditions for Continuation

  • Learners conditionally admitted for English or Math must enroll in the required non-credit remedial courses.
  • Learners must maintain satisfactory academic progress as per HBMSU’s academic policies.
  • All submitted credentials are subject to verification; failure to provide valid documentation may result in revocation of admission. 

Transfer of Credit for Undergraduate Learners

Learners may formally apply to transfer credits from other recognized educational institutions. Based on the official university policy:

  • Transfer credits may be granted exclusively for courses completed at accredited higher education institutions.
  • Courses must be equivalent in academic content and learning outcomes to the corresponding HBMSU courses.
  • Only courses completed with a minimum grade of C or higher are eligible for transfer.
  • The maximum number of transferable credits remains subject to HBMSU’s undergraduate transfer policy.
  • Applicants must provide official transcripts, detailed course syllabi, and a completed transfer credit application form for comprehensive evaluation by the relevant academic department.
  • Learners must possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 or higher to be eligible to apply for a credit transfer.

Master's Admission Requirements

Applicants to HBMSU master's programs must consistently demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and a readiness for advanced postgraduate study. Admission criteria include:

  • Academic Achievement: A recognized bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Conditional Admission: Applicants with a CGPA between 2.5 and 2.99 may be granted conditional admission. These learners must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA within their first 6 credit hours of study.
  • Foundation Requirement: Graduates from non-business or non-management disciplines must successfully complete the Management Appreciation Program (MAP) prior to beginning core courses.
  • English Language Proficiency: Demonstrated by achieving one of the following:
    • TOEFL: Minimum 550 (PBT) or 79 (iBT)
    • IELTS Academic: Minimum overall score of 6.0
    • Exemption: Applicants who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree where English was the primary medium of instruction are exempt from this requirement.

  • Attested copies of the bachelor’s degree and official transcripts
  • An Equivalency Certificate (mandatory if the degree was obtained outside the UAE)
  • Official English proficiency test score reports
  • A valid Emirates ID and a copy of a valid passport
  • One recent passport-sized photograph
  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate
  • An employment letter (if applicable)
  • An active LinkedIn profile link

Note: Certain specific academic programs may require a formal interview or the submission of a detailed personal statement.

HBMSU master’s programs are structured to foster sophisticated leadership, innovation, and professional growth across dynamic global industries.

Conditions for Continuation

  • Learners admitted conditionally based on English proficiency must obtain the standard English test score within their first semester to continue registering for core academic courses.
  • Learners conditionally admitted based on their CGPA must complete their first 6 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to retain their enrollment eligibility.
  • All submitted credentials are continuously subject to institutional verification.

Transfer of Credit for Master's Learners

HBMSU allows the transfer of credit hours from accredited graduate programs into applicable master’s programs. To qualify, learners must meet the following strict requirements:

  • Only courses completed with a minimum grade of B or higher are eligible for transfer.
  • Learners must possess a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply for a credit transfer.
  • Courses must be thoroughly equivalent in academic content and learning outcomes to those offered at HBMSU.
  • Transfer credits remain subject to rigorous academic review and final approval by the respective program committee.
  • Learners must submit official transcripts, detailed course syllabi, and a completed transfer credit application.

Doctorate Admission Requirements

Lead research and innovation at the highest academic level with HBMSU's doctoral programs.

HBMSU’s doctoral programs actively admit highly accomplished professionals and scholars who are deeply committed to advancing quality, innovation, and research excellence. The rigorous admission requirements include:

  • Academic Achievement: A recognized master’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Research Alignment: The submission of a detailed, well-structured research proposal that strictly aligns with HBMSU’s designated research focus areas.
  • Evaluation: The successful completion of a comprehensive academic evaluation interview.
  • English Language Proficiency: Demonstrated proof via one of the following:
    • IELTS Academic: An overall score of 6.0, accompanied by a minimum writing band of 6.5
    • TOEFL iBT: An overall score of 80, accompanied by a minimum writing score of 24

Applicants must submit the following documentation:

  • Attested copies of the master’s degree and official academic transcripts
  • An Equivalency Certificate (mandatory if the degree was obtained outside the UAE)
  • Official English proficiency test score reports
  • An updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing academic, research, and professional achievements
  • A formal letter of intent actively outlining research interests and long-term career goals
  • A comprehensive research proposal summary
  • Two official recommendation letters (academic or professional)
  • A valid Emirates ID and a copy of a valid passport
  • One recent passport-sized photograph
  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate
  • An employment letter (if applicable)
  • An active LinkedIn profile link

Note: Applicants whose academic background is outside Quality Management or related disciplines may be required to complete remedial courses in Principles of Quality Management and/or Principles of Statistics.
