The Master of Education in Gifted and Talented Education provides educators with the advanced knowledge and skills to help learners who possess exceptional creativity, drive, and talent.

This postgraduate degree, taught in Arabic language, is smartly designed to detect, develop, and nurture talented and gifted people, and to prepare a generation of learners who can lead innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and are able to re-engineer the future to achieve progress in all sectors of development in the UAE and the Arab world.

Through 12 structured and specialized courses, graduates will be able to perform in the education of gifted and talented people in terms of detection, instruction, training, advising, mentoring, nurturing, evaluation, and development. 

Learners in this program will also design and develop educational and guidance programs that promote thinking and learning and innovation skills.

In addition, as a graduate of this program, you will be able to develop, execute, and assess original and modern research, produce creative projects, and design practical programs that can creatively and untraditionally address real-life issues related to this vital area. This program will qualify you to work as teachers, trainers, psychological and educational advisors, researchers, program developers for the talented and gifted, or as developers of special education programs.

Postgraduate diploma: You will have the opportunity to design your own learning pathway, relevant to your professional needs, as this graduate program provides an exit opportunity with a postgraduate diploma in gifted and talented education, after completion of only two semesters.

Accreditation: This program is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education’s Commission for Academic Accreditation.

Admission Requirements: The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution with a minimum AGPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 Scale or its equivalent and provide a proof for Arabic language proficiency subject to admission standards of academic programs taught in Arabic (EmSAT Arabic 1250). Applicants will also be required to provide proof for minimum English language proficiency subject to admission standards of academic programs taught in Arabic (IELTS: 4.5 or above, TOEFL 450 paper-based). Program Goals

Prepare specialists who have the specialized educational and research knowledge, capabilities, and skills necessary to design, develop, implement, manage and evaluate educational, psychological, and academic learning programs for different types of talented and gifted people.
Create a scientific advisory reference that provides learning systems, school trainings, and organizational trainings with expertise that ultimately can define, develop, manage, and evaluate the right approaches to detect, develop, and nurture the gifted and talented
Provide in-service training alternatives to teachers and special-group teachers where they acquire skills of differentiated teaching, evaluation, and dynamic advising by studying in carefully selected courses
Make available of different models of works, researches, and creative, innovative projects on brain-based learning, creative and critical thinking development programs for special groups. These models will be very useful for pre-university institutions and higher education institutions alongside government and non-government organizations dedicated to gifted and talented people in UAE and the Arab world
Develop human resources that can lead a movement to plan, develop, and evaluate educational programs that further revive and support gifted and creative children in both public and private schools subject to international ethical standards and covenants and frameworks for special education.
Build human capabilities that can use ICT systems and modern smart learning systems to improve and develop field practices for gifted and talented education, and can establish social and organizational connections by building sustainable practices in learning communities

Analyze authentic and modern theories and models explaining psychological, mental, social, and educational characteristics of talented, gifted, and creative people, and ways to identify and discover these characteristics in them
Understand the importance of a scientific approach that is based on research and innovation in developing theories and models explaining intelligence and public and private creativity, brain-based machine learning and advanced cognitive growth of the talented and gifted
Compare models, types, and levels of critical thinking, creative thinking, supra-cognitive thinking to the models and programs used to develop and evaluate thinking and learning skills for gifted and talented people
Understand the importance of achieving systematic efforts integration between school, family, and community organizations for adopting development programs for talented people
Apply an advanced scientific methodology to detect and identify talented, gifted, and creative people and realize their own psychological, social, and academic needs
Evaluate programs that nurture, advise, guide, and support talented and gifted people psychologically, academically, and socially, and draw innovative indicators and recommendations for improving such programs
Design action, experimental and quality research, and build innovative projects that is necessary to solve simple and complex problems in the real world of gifted and talented education and draw lessons learned.
Plan and develop programs and applications needed to develop creative thinking skills to solve problems in light of emerging variables in advanced cognitive growth and recent trends in special education
Use ICT applications and systems to create innovative educational solutions to support talented and gifted people with educational, academic, and social support
Develop innovative ideas, projects, and business models to manage elements of the detection system and identify, evaluate, guide and support talented people and take responsibility for their implementation and sustainability
Plan and develop strategic and operational activities and lead task forces necessary to solve real-world problems, and address the emerging challenges in the field of talented and gifted education at the national level
12. Make decisions necessary to manage and address ethical issues in special education in light of international standards and conventions, and draw lessons learned to develop personal and professional practices in non-traditional ways
