The Doctor of Philosophy (Total Quality Management) at HBMSU Dubai covers a wide range of topics including operations management, service quality excellence, strategic management, corporate social responsibility and issues relating to the effectiveness of corporate and competitive strategy in creating a competitive advantage for a firm. The Ph.D.program from HBMSU also includes an advanced doctoral seminar that provides learners with a broad understanding of key research areas in Total Quality Management (TQM) with the intent of helping them to discover their own research interests and begin to build towards a dissertation topic. The course familiarizes learners with the literature and topics relevant to the TQM field including supply chain management and international quality, designing and assuring quality, implementing quality, and managing quality improvement teams.
HBMSU also offers graduate research assistantship for full-time Ph.D. scholars. Graduate Assistants are full-time doctoral scholars who participate in teaching or research activities in exchange for financial support at the University. Activities that are relevant to the Ph.D. program and contribute to HBMSU's teaching, research and creative activities will be incorporated into the program.

Via HBMSU's interactive smart learning platform, the HBMSU Smart Campus, Ph.D. scholars will be able to take the program in any part of the world, through interactive online sessions, without disrupting their schedule. It is based on a highly successful blended learning model, that is unique to the region and has received full accreditation and support from the UAE Ministry of Education's Commission for Academic Accreditation.
An international advisory board of scholars and practitioners has also been established to review the curricula, pedagogy, and technology used to deliver the courses on a regular basis to ensure highest possible standards.

Admission Requirements: The applicant must hold a Master's degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 Scale or its established equivalent. A candidate for the Ph.D. program will be required to sit for a formal interview to evaluate his/her fitness for the Ph.D. program.
