HBMeU signs MOU with Emirates Identity Authority
The Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU), to benefit from e-learning services provided by the university in the fields of professional development, leadership, management and others.
The MoU was signed as both parties are seeking to build a solid strategic partnership in support of the UAE Government Strategic Plan and to promote collaboration between government bodies and educational and academic institutions to serve the UAE society. Dr Ali Mohammed Al Khouri, Director-General of Eida, said: “The partnership with HBMeU stems from Eida’s desire to promote cooperation with one of the most prominent educational institutions that specialises in creating an ideal environment for e-learning, lifelong learning and providing learners with experience at a high level, as well as the dissemination of knowledge, culture of excellence and quality management in our national institutions.” “The authority plays a vital role in supporting the electronic transformation of the country through initiatives that develop the electronic identity management (eID) infrastructure. Eida’s thrust is in line with the vision of the university, which is the first academic institution specialising in the provision of educational services in the field of Total Quality Management through e-learning in the Arab World and the Middle East,” said Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMeU. Under the agreement, which was recently signed at Eida’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, HBMeU will provide Eida access to specialised publications in the field of total quality, scientific research services and scientific research, and will work to enrich the authority’s “Excellence Library” with such publications. The authority will promote periodic events, programmes and training courses available at the university among its staff and affiliates, in order to spread awareness about the importance of e-learning. In return, the university will offer programmes and training courses to be used by Eida staff in accordance with international standards and to meet their needs, as well as to cultivate the e-learning culture among managers and staff of Eida through practical experiences
