BOG Meeting

During its first regular meeting for the academic year 2021-2022, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University’s (HBMSU) Board of Governors led by its Chairman H.E Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, upheld the university’s current efforts to continuously implement institutional efficiency as the key to strengthening the university’s leadership in providing quality learning. The BOG noted that HBMSU remains a pioneer in harnessing innovation, technology, and quality to develop future skills that would enable graduates to compete globally and become leaders in the 21st century.

Held recently in the presence of high-level dignities including Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, the meeting discussed the steps and phases to attain international accreditation which is a steppingstone to promote the university’s pioneering efforts. The University has been leading in developing the capabilities of young creative minds and enabling them to become leaders in their fields ahead of the future. This is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMSU to continue empowering the youth as a top priority.

The Board of Governors presented a detailed report about rating criteria for smart learning institutions and online universities. It also reviewed the website which will be created to serve as a hub for all standard data and updated information related to the new system, members, founders, and performance measurement activities of the university, prior to its official launch in January 2022.

H.E Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim said: “HBMSU continues to march ahead while strengthening its foundations to enhance quality, excellence and institutional performance. The last is a key addition to our successive achievements in providing unique educational experiences and producing graduates equipped with the tools and skills to meet the needs of the 21st century.” 

He added: “We reaffirm our commitment to support the HBMSU’s management plans in improving institutional efficiency, which we believe is the foundation of the university to produce highly qualified and skilled graduates that would contribute to achieving scientific and academic excellence. It is also part of our mission to continuously develop their capabilities to become innovators, entrepreneurs, decision makers and future leaders, who will be the major drivers in helping achieve the national agenda in preparation for the next 50 years of growth and prosperity.”
