English 101

Course Overview

Build the English language skills you need to succeed in university and beyond.

English 101 is a fully online, self-paced course aligned with the CEFR B1 level, designed to help you develop the confidence and academic communication skills required for English-medium higher education. Through interactive learning activities, multimedia resources, practical exercises, and authentic learning tasks, you will strengthen your reading, writing, listening, and communication skills across 15 structured modules — anytime, anywhere, and at your own pace. Regular self-check quizzes let you practice and get instant feedback along the way, with no impact on your final grade.

Your learning journey concludes with a secure, on-campus final assessment, with exam sessions offered throughout the semester so you can choose the time that best fits your schedule. For eligible conditionally admitted learners, achieving a minimum grade of C (70%) in this course satisfies HBMSU's English language proficiency requirement, removing the admission condition and providing a flexible, on-campus pathway to continuing your academic studies without needing an external test.
