Hamdan Bin Mubarak visits ‘Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University’ and sponsors “Higher Education Dropout” Workshop

His Excellency was briefed on the smart transformation initiatives

Under patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University campus in Dubai hosted the “Higher Education Dropout” Workshop. With participation from educational institutions in UAE and the MOHESR’s strategic partners, the workshop discussed the reasons behind student dropout from both the private and public higher education, and sought to produce recommendations and strategies that address such reasons, and design a mechanism that attracts students into the educational environment. Participants carried out the workshop with consideration to the outcomes of the survey conducted by the Ministry’s Unified Admission Center stating the reasons behind student dropout before accomplishing their programs. During his field tour, His Excellency was accompanied by Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMSU Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), and HBMSU’s Assistant Chancellors, and was briefed on the integrated educational environment available to learners, the HBMSU’s smart facilities, and HBMSU-led initiatives that underpin the smart transformation process inspired by the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and President of HBMSU.

HBMSU learners gave a detailed demonstration to His Excellency OF THE Smart Campus stressing on the significance of such quantum leap in terms of enhancing the flexibility and quality of smart learning in line with latest technological advancements so to prepare for a generation with capacity to build a smart sustainable economy. His Excellency was further introduced to HBMSU’s smart electronic Career Advising and Placement Services intended to enhance permanent bridges connecting prospective learners, current learners, alumni, and business community. His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak also listened to a presentation on Cloud Campus, the first-ever e-learning initiative that offers high quality e-learning services via the social media and makes available to learners of all ages the opportunity to access high level learning resources within interactive virtual learning environment supervised by a highly qualified team that stand up to provide academic support and guidance in order to fulfill learner’s aspiration in the future.

At the end of his visit, His Excellency praised the value of the role played by HBMSU as a pioneering higher education institution specialized in smart higher education, and expressed his confidence that HBMSU will contribute to all sectors in UAE and will provide qualified human resources required for the next stage of development by deploying newly introduced programs that correspond to the requirements of the transformation into the green economy.
