Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) is a pioneering institution in smart learning and digital education, recognized globally for innovation, flexibility, and learner-centered approaches. HBMSU invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Public Health/ Healthcare Management at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing teaching, research, and innovation in healthcare management, with a particular emphasis on public health, health economics, health management, health systems performance, and data-driven decision-making.
Main roles and responsibilities
The selected candidate will be a key contributor to the School of Health Sciences. Primary responsibilities include:
-Teaching: Conduct online courses in public health and health management, covering topics such as public health, health economics, operations management, health quality, and health management.
-Curriculum Development: Design instructional materials and e-content for healthcare management, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
-Research: Contribute to the academic community by publishing research in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. Develop research proposals, secure funding for healthcare management-related projects, and supervise capstone projects.
-Mentorship: Provide guidance, advice, and mentorship to learners, supporting them throughout their academic and professional journeys.
-Professional Development: Develop and deliver professional short courses and workshops tailored to the needs of specific target groups and professional communities.
-Service: Support academic programs by fulfilling essential responsibilities, including activities related to program accreditations and institutional requirements.
Required qualification & skills
-PhD in Public Health / Healthcare Management from an accredited university (top-ranked institutions preferred)
-Demonstrated expertise in healthcare management and its practical applications.
-Ability to teach healthcare management courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
-Preference for candidates with experience in health data analytics and AI in healthcare
Electronic health records, health information systems and interoperability, and data governance and health information security.
-Proven success in teaching at accredited universities.
-Experience teaching in online learning environments.
-Ability to integrate industry practice and digital innovation into teaching and curriculum design.
-Proven experience in developing and delivering professional workshops tailored to specific audiences.
-Demonstrated capability in supervising learner theses and supporting research projects.
Rank and Appointment
Candidates will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor based on the following criteria:
-A minimum of 5 years of academic experience in a university setting is required.
-A robust research profile demonstrated by high-quality publications and impactful contributions to the field.
-Evidence of holding the same academic rank (Associate Professor or Professor) at the time of application or at the last employing institution.
